DreamForge Mac Guide

Set up the Mac workspace for local ComfyUI, library storage, workspaces, folder cleanup, references, edits, and gallery exports.

Quick Start

Five checks before your first Mac generation.

The Mac version assumes your ComfyUI server is reachable from the same Mac or from another machine you control.

Start ComfyUI

Run ComfyUI with the workflows and custom nodes DreamForge uses.

Set Server URL

Use http://127.0.0.1:8000 for a server running on the same Mac.

Add API Key

Enter the Comfy account or provider key used by the partner-node workflows.

Choose Library

Pick where DreamForge saves creations, references, galleries, and metadata.

Create Workspace

Use Basic Library or create named workspaces for separate projects.

Connection

Use the Settings screen as your control room.

The Mac Settings page groups ComfyUI connection, API key, library save location, cleanup controls, and workspaces so the desktop app can keep long projects tidy.

Same-Mac server example http://127.0.0.1:8000

If ComfyUI runs on another machine, use that machine's reachable network URL instead of 127.0.0.1.

Library Save Location

Choose the folder where DreamForge stores creations, references, galleries, and metadata.

Workspaces

Use Basic Library for one shared flow, or create named workspaces for separate projects.

Reference Board

Organize Identity, Pose, Outfit, Lighting, Background, Style, and other board sections.

Edit Tools

Run upscales, skin enhancement, and background removal without replacing originals.

Galleries

Group generated images for export-ready sets without duplicating the underlying files.

ComfyUI Cleanup

Choose input and output folders once, then clean leftovers to Trash when needed.

Troubleshooting

Fast Mac checks.

Most Mac issues come down to server reachability, missing provider keys, library permissions, workflow errors, or cleanup folders that have not been selected.

DreamForge cannot reach ComfyUI

Confirm ComfyUI is running.
Use http://127.0.0.1:8000 only when ComfyUI is on the same Mac.
Open the same URL in a browser on the Mac.
Check firewall or network settings if the server runs elsewhere.

Generated images are not appearing

Check the ComfyUI console for missing nodes or workflow errors.
Confirm the selected model route supports the number of references and outputs you chose.
Make sure the DreamForge library location is writable.

Cleanup buttons are disabled

Choose the ComfyUI input folder.
Choose the ComfyUI output folder.
Refresh the cleanup section after moving or renaming folders.
Cleanup moves contents to Trash and keeps the folders themselves.
